Bearwood Studios Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using any Bearwood Studios mobile application (“App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Apps.

Developer: Bearwood LLC

This policy covers the following apps:

• Hylla – Home inventory management app with AI recognition

• Bible Honey – Scripture feed and Bible reader app

1.1 Relationship to Apple’s Standard EULA

These Apps are distributed through Apple’s App Store and are subject to Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (EULA). These Terms of Service supplement Apple’s Standard EULA and provide additional terms specific to our Apps. In the event of any conflict between Apple’s Standard EULA and these Terms, Apple’s Standard EULA shall prevail with respect to your use of the Apps, and these Terms shall prevail with respect to App-specific features and services.

2. Description of Service

Hylla

Hylla is an inventory management application that helps you:

– Track personal belongings and their locations

– Manage product information and photos

– Monitor spending and inventory value

– Check product safety recalls using AI

Bible Honey

Bible Honey is a Scripture reading application that helps you:

– Experience Bible verses in a social media-style feed

– Save and bookmark favorite verses

– Read full chapters with a built-in Bible reader

– Highlight verses and take personal notes

– Share Scripture with others

3. User Accounts

3.1 Hylla Account Requirements

To use Hylla, you must create an account using:

– Google Sign-In, or

– Apple Sign-In

You are responsible for:

– ✅ Maintaining the security of your account

– ✅ All activities under your account

– ✅ Notifying us of any unauthorized access

You must:

– Be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country)

– Provide accurate information

– Comply with these Terms

3.2 Bible Honey – No Account Required

Bible Honey does not require an account. You can use all features without signing up or providing any personal information.

3.3 Account Deletion (Hylla)

You can delete your Hylla account at any time through Settings → Account → Delete Account. This will:

– Delete your account data from our authentication system

– Revoke your authentication

– Keep inventory data on your device/iCloud (you must delete manually)

4. AI Features and Disclaimers (Hylla Only)

4.1 AI-Powered Features

Hylla uses Google Vertex AI for:

– Product recognition from photos

– Safety recall checking

– Data extraction from receipts

4.2 Important Disclaimers

⚠️ AI Features Are Not Perfect:

– AI may misidentify products

– Recall information may be incomplete or outdated

– We do not guarantee accuracy of AI results

⚠️ Safety Recalls:

– Recall data is sourced from public databases

– We are not responsible for missing or incorrect recall information

– Always verify recalls through official sources

– Do not rely solely on Hylla for safety-critical decisions

4.3 No Warranties

THE AI FEATURES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of AI-generated content.

5. Data and Privacy

5.1 Your Data

Hylla:

– Inventory data stays on your device or iCloud (your choice)

– Photos are stored locally, not on our servers

– AI processing uses zero data retention (deleted immediately after use)

Bible Honey:

– All data (bookmarks, notes, highlights) stays on your device

– No account or personal information required

– Only anonymous aggregate counts (likes/shares/views per verse) are synced

5.2 Your Content

You retain all rights to:

– Your inventory data (Hylla)

– Your photos (Hylla)

– Your receipts (Hylla)

– Your bookmarks, notes, and highlights (Bible Honey)

– Any content you create

5.3 Our Use of Your Data

We only use your data to:

– Provide the Apps’ features

– Process AI requests with immediate deletion (Hylla)

– Authenticate your account (Hylla only)

We never:

– ❌ Sell your data

– ❌ Store your photos on our servers

– ❌ Use your data for advertising

– ❌ Track your usage or behavior

6. Acceptable Use

6.1 You May NOT:

– ❌ Use the Apps for illegal purposes

– ❌ Upload offensive, harmful, or inappropriate content

– ❌ Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or compromise the Apps

– ❌ Abuse AI features for spam or malicious purposes (Hylla)

– ❌ Share your account credentials (Hylla)

– ❌ Use the Apps to violate others’ rights or privacy

– ❌ Scrape, data mine, or extract data from the Apps

– ❌ Impersonate others or create fake accounts

6.2 We Reserve the Right To:

– ✅ Suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms

– ✅ Remove content that violates our policies

– ✅ Modify or discontinue features at any time

– ✅ Refuse service to anyone

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Property

The Hylla and Bible Honey Apps, including:

– Software code

– Design, UI, and graphics

– Logos and branding

– Documentation

…are owned by Bearwood LLC and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

7.2 Your License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Apps for personal, non-commercial purposes.

7.3 Third-Party Services

The Apps use third-party services (Google Vertex AI, Firebase) which have their own terms and policies. By using the Apps, you also agree to their terms.

8. Service Availability

8.1 No Guarantees

We strive to keep our Apps available 24/7, but we do not guarantee:

– ❌ Uninterrupted service

– ❌ Error-free operation

– ❌ Specific features will always be available

8.2 Maintenance and Updates

We may:

– Perform maintenance (scheduled or emergency)

– Update features

– Change or discontinue features

– Require app updates to continue using the service

8.3 Service Changes

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Apps at any time, with or without notice.

9. Limitation of Liability

9.1 No Liability for Damages

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BEARWOOD LLC IS NOT LIABLE FOR:

– ❌ Loss of data or inventory information

– ❌ Inaccurate AI results or recall information (Hylla)

– ❌ Missed safety recalls (Hylla)

– ❌ Financial losses

– ❌ Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

– ❌ Loss of profits or business interruption

– ❌ Third-party actions

9.2 Maximum Liability

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from the Apps is limited to $100 USD.

9.3 No Liability for Third Parties

We are not responsible for:

– Google Vertex AI results (Hylla)

– iCloud data loss

– Apple App Store issues

– Firebase service interruptions

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APPS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING:

– ❌ Warranties of merchantability

– ❌ Fitness for a particular purpose

– ❌ Non-infringement

– ❌ Accuracy or reliability

– ❌ Error-free operation

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bearwood LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

– Your use of the Apps

– Your violation of these Terms

– Your violation of any third-party rights

– Content you upload or create

12. Termination

12.1 By You

You may stop using the Apps and delete your account (Hylla) at any time.

12.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

– You violate these Terms

– You abuse the service

– Required by law

– We discontinue the Apps

12.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

– Your right to use the Apps ends

– Data on our servers will be deleted (Hylla)

– Local data on your device remains (you must delete manually)

13. GDPR Rights (EU/EEA Users)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under GDPR:

14. Children’s Privacy

Neither Hylla nor Bible Honey is intended for children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we discover a child’s account (Hylla), we will delete it.

15. International Use

Bearwood Studios is based in the United States. If you use the Apps from outside the US, you are responsible for compliance with local laws. By using the Apps, you consent to the transfer of data to the United States.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois and the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Illinois/Adams.

18. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:

– Push notification (Hylla)

– In-app notification

– Updating the “Last Updated” date

Your continued use of the Apps after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Bearwood LLC regarding the Apps.

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

21. No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
